Recap for 2008
2008 was a very successful year for us, our physicians, and our patients. Under the medical direction of J. Keith Wright, MD* and Gerardo E. Cárcamo, MD*, there were nearly 400 Lap Band surgeries performed here at the NIX Weight Loss Surgery Center last year.
Last year also marked an important milestone for J. Keith Wright, MD* and Gerardo E. Cárcamo, MD*, with the transformation of nearly 2,000 lives with the Lap-band ® System Weight Loss Procedure. We congratulate them and all they have done for the patients of San Antonio and South Texas.
The beginning of 2008 also brought about the use of the new Lap-Band AP™ System. This new Lap Band has a number of new features that enhancesperformance, and provides a better result for our patients. Overall it provides better gastric wall compression, which helps patients not feel as hungry. It is easier to place, to adjust, and easier to fill then its predecessors. We were very excited to bring this new technology to our patients.

Support Groups- Beginning in March, Support Groups will now be held at our NIX Alamo Heights Location. They will still be held the 3rd Thursday of every month, from 6:00-7:00 pm. We look forward to seeing you there.
