NIX HOSTS BARIATRIC SUPPORT GROUP IN THE TEXAS HILL COUNTRY
Monthly Support Group is Free and Open to the Public
San Antonio, Texas (June 6, 2011) – The Nix Weight Loss Surgery Center is now offering a free support group in Kerrville where attendees can share their weight loss achievements or, for those considering the bariatric surgery, learn more and hear from successful patients. The Weight Loss Surgery Support Group is held the 4th Thursday of the month at Conlee’s School of Cosmetology, 320 West Water Street in Kerrville, from 7 to 8 p.m.
Christine, a Kerrville resident, was overweight her entire life. Years of home cooked meals prepared by her mother and days scheduled around eating led to a family history of obesity, diabetes and other health problems.
“Food became comfort for me,” Christine says. “I had lost weight in the past, but it never lasted. We just didn’t know how to make it about fueling our bodies, rather than comforting them. I knew I had to change this cycle.”
In 2009, Christine made an important and life altering decision to change her future and improve her health. Christine turned to the Nix Weight Loss Surgery Center to help achieve her weight loss goals. After losing nearly 80 pounds, Christine now knows she will never be the 200 plus pound woman she was before.

The support group not only helped Christine lose weight and keep it off, it also led her to new friendships with two other Nix Weight Loss Surgery Center patients, Angela and Denise, both also Kerrville residents. The three women now share a close bond because of their weight loss surgery experience and have lost almost 250 pounds together.
